Educated Women Are Fit To Hold A Candle To Marriage
Though India is a developing nation but there are many regions in the country where limited opportunities are provided to women to receive proper education. It is a well-known fact that the entire onus of managing the household usually rests on the shoulder of women and still it is considered futile to invest in the education of women.
Certain prejudices continue to exist in our society which ensures that a man must be professionally stable before he enters the holy institution of matrimony but sadly the same is not applicable for a girl. Our society fails to realize that educated women make excellent wives since they have a fine sense of judgement and they manage to strike a balance between their personal and professional lives. In today’s world where there is an incessant rise in prices of all commodities, it is becoming increasingly difficult to run a household if the husband is the only breadwinner of the family. If a woman is educated then she can equally share the responsibilities of her husband and hence can bring about a magnanimous change in their standard of living.
Since a major section of women are deprived of education they still continue to be in awe of their husbands and are also suppressed by their in-laws. Being uneducated they go on bearing the unjust treatment that is offered to them and they never stand up for their rights. This results in many unhappy marriages. . The reason for this being that the in-laws or the husband usually would not disrespect a woman who is educated since they know that she is independent and do not rely on them for financial security. Such relations are based only on compassion and respect for each other. It is seen that in these cases the husband and the wife share their responsibilities more or less equally and hence have a more calm and peaceful environment at their home.
Our society still continues to be a “Man’s world” where women are not given the respect and position that they deserve. This is one of the main reasons for the hindered development of our society. Educated women not only have happy married lives but they also prove to be better parents over time. Educated women ensure that they have a safe and better future because they strive to make it better and worth living for their family with the help of their education.
It is essential to eradicate the age old prejudices that have its roots embedded deep in the hearts of the previous generations. This can be accomplished by educating the women of our society because women who are educated pass on their knowledge and learning to the next generations and ensure a better future for them. It is time that people realize that an educated individual differs from an uneducated one in a very big way. It is time that the entire society joins hand to create opportunities for women to achieve their dreams and aspirations and not just force them into the institution of marriage. This will happen as soon as every individual realizes that a woman can make her marriage work even better if she is well educated and will also be able to impart good virtues to her children, making them responsible individuals of the society.
