Beads are very much ‘in’ this season. The small, decorative objects that are pierced for threading or stringing into a piece of jewellery, have caught every woman’ fancy. Going back in history, an interesting fact reveals that the earliest known examples of jewellery were made with beads, from Nassarius sea snail shells, approximately 100,000 years old. The art of making artwork or things of craft is called bead-work.

Perhaps this is why the ancient tradition of wearing beads, even in the form of small rocks, animal skins, hairs of an animal etc. (which were said to bring good luck) has come back again, in a revamped way.
