When it comes to jewellery, less is more!
Gone are the days when woman adorned herself with heavy jewellery, that dazzled in almost every exposed part of her body. Fashion trends have evolved radically since then, and today, women prefer keeping their jewellery to the minimum, and choose them with intricate scrutiny and precision.
Women’s lives have undergone massive change since olden times, which perhaps is a major reason why heavy necklaces, weighty earrings, and other such jewelleries have become obsolete. The woman of today not only manages her home in a more systematic and well-organized way, but she is actively involved in the workforce, proving her mettle in almost all professions. Hence, it is more convenient and sophisticated for her to sport minimal jewellery such as a pendant with a gold or silver chain, light earrings, junk jewellery etc.
Owing to a busy schedule and having to travel frequently, woman have since long bid adieu to traditional jewellery, save for the social occasions, where she might give it a try as a welcome change. Apart from that, in her regular life, she is most comfortable with simple jewellery. The recent trend also expects that if she wears heavy earrings, she should forgo her neckpiece or keep it to a bare minimum, and vice-versa. Going over-the-top with jewellery is a strict no-no. ‘Understated’ is the way to be, without highlighting everything with lots of razzle-dazzle. Chunky designs in yellow gold are also hardly in vogue. Girls and women prefer platinum, diamonds, pearls or for that matter, junk ornaments, oxidized accessories in order to lend them a different look. Little studs and thin chains are now every girl’s best friends!
Cocktail rings are very much in fashion owing to their big, bold and exclusive appeal. They are mostly crafted out in diamonds, or, big stones that serve as statement pieces. Beads, wooden pieces and other such different styles are being experimented with. Even with stoned danglers or necklaces are worn, they are in sync with the times and are rather chic than classic. The thumb rule is- if you highlight your ears, keep your neck bare and vice-versa. Besides, if you embellish your wrist, do it in a way that less is magnified as more.
Do not go overboard with flaunting your jewels. Even if sporting bling, do it in such style that the emphasis is not on the gems alone, but on you and your overall personality. Elaborate designs and exaggerated ornamentation is fading away, and will soon be replaced by intricate and soothing designs. Do it in a way that highlights your presence, not overshadow it!
