YFLO Raga Young Women Achievers Awards

YFLO stands for Young FICCI Ladies Organization. This organization is an exclusive women's wing of the prestigious national organization FICCI (Federation of Indian Chamber Of Commerce and Industry). The main motive of this organization is women empowerment at various levels across different strata of society in India.
Every year, YFLO organizes an event in which they recognize the young and outstanding women achievers who have excelled in their respective field and done a significant contribution for society. The main motive of these awards is to promote entrepreneurship and professional excellence in women. To felicitate this award 10 young women under the age of 45 are chosen from diverse fields.
The felicitation took place on the April 12, 2012 at The Lalit Hotel, New Delhi. Dr. (Ms) Najma Heptulla, Vice-President, BJP was the Chief Guest and Ms. Zia Mody, Senior Partner of the Law Firm of AZB & Partners was the Guest of Honour at the occasion. Mr. R. V. Kanoria, President-FICCI graced the occasion. This event was a concluding event of Avantika Dalmia's tenure. The event was sponsored by Titan Raga, Arushi Arts and The Lalit.
THE AWARDEES WERE-
Ms. Harsimrat Kaur Badal (Politics):
In the 2009 election, she was elected to the 15th Lok Sabha from the Bhatinda constituency. She led a campaign against female foeticide named "Nanhi Chaan" ("small life" in Punjabi)
Ms. Hasina Kharbhih (Community Service):
She is a social entrepreneur who Founded Impulse NGO Network and presently is the President and Team Leader of the same. This social organization works on issues of child trafficking, HIV and AIDS intervention, and livelihood support initiatives for rural Northeast India.
Ms Suhasini Haider (Media):
Suhasini Haidar is the Deputy Foreign Editor and Prime-Time anchor for CNN-IBN, regularly anchoring its award-winning show India@9 and a reporter of the subcontinent.
Ms Amruda Nair (Business Entrepreneur):
She started the Leela Group and is now a successful Entrepreneur.
Ms Tishani Doshi (Literature):
Tishani is a well known name in the world of poetry and dance. She also works as freelance journalist who writes about things as diverse as monasteries and hot springs and cricket for different publications.
Ms. Tejaswini Sawant (Sports):
She represented India in different international event and brought glory to the country by winning medals. Moreover she was the first Indian women shooter to win a gold medal in the World champions.
Ms Vijayalakshmi (Performing Arts)
Ms. Lara Dutta (Cinema) :
She is an Indian Bollywood actress and former Miss Universe (2000). She won different awards in the span of 2000 to 2009.
Ms Suhani Pittie (Fashion):
The World gold council recently enlisted her in the World’s top 10 most ingenious and inventive jewellery designer. She is a recipient of the 'Singem Award for Excellence' in the field of gemology. She was the first Indian jewellery designer to be selected to showcase at the Miami Fashion Week.
Ms Suhasini Kejriwal (Visual Arts) :
The Artist Lives and Works in Kolkata. Won Parsons Honor Scholarship 1995-98and also was Celeste Art Prize Finalist 2006.
These young ladies are the face of a progressive India and are the inspiration for the young female generation to achieve their goals in life, leaving the shackles of discrimination behind them.
