Let Those Eyes Speak!
Someone had rightly said, “The beauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides.” No wonder, eyes are the first thing in a woman’s appearance that first come into notice, and capture attraction. Thus, they must not only be cared for, but should be given that extra time and meticulous attention so as to make them even more beautiful.
The first step to getting that gorgeous pair of eyes for any special occasion or even for a day out chilling with friends, is to apply concealer just beneath the lower lid, so as to cover up the under-eye dark circles or discolouration, if any. An eye base is mandatory to be applied to the lid, to keep the eye-shadow intact for hours, without giving that greasy look. The next step is to follow it up with eyeliner, and it must be used carefully. The eyes should be lined as close as possible to the eyelashes, from the inner to the outer corner. The same should be followed for the lower lid as well, and if you prefer a smoky look, smudge the lower lid eyeliner with the tip of your finger.
The eye-shadow that one uses must complement her complexion, colour and size of eyes, and personality as well. It is best to begin with a colour that is closest to that of the eyelid. It must be swept across the lid up to the brow bone. If you want, you can add on darker shades for a more dramatic look, but one must take care to keep the colours well-blended. This is to be followed by the use of a curl-lasher that will give your eye-lashes the appearance of being longer, wider and well-shaped, thus giving your eye a brighter look. Curl lashers can be heated with a blow-dryer for a few seconds for a better effect, but make sure it isn’t too hot, before you use it.
Last but not the least, mascara adds the complete touch to your eye make-up. The wand of the mascara brush placed at the bottom of the lashes, it should be wiggled back and forth to lend a thick look to the lashes. A few sweeps, followed by the same procedure on the lower lashes will ensure that you have a pair of “killer” eyes that will never fail to set other eyes rolling, whenever you step out. Multiple coats of mascara should be applied only before the first coat dries. Reapplying mascara over a dry layer will lead to clumps.
One may choose to experiment widely with eye make-up, such as trying out a glittery look with eye shadows etc., using a coloured mascara instead of the regular black one, using rainbow colours for a wild, flamboyant look if you’re bold and confident enough to carry such a look, sporting fake eyelashes to highlight eyes even more, or smudging the kohl or the liner for a dark and gothic look. All in all, it’s about enhancing, glamming up and accentuating the pair that one has been blessed with!
