Kareena’s impressive weight loss routine!
There were several reactions to Kareena Kapoor’s drastic weight loss for Tashan. Many young and impressionable girls were floored by her figure and wished desperately for her wafer thin waist and tiny hips. However, Kapoor also faced much diatribe from women and health professionals for her drastic and voluminous weight loss – and was cited as a bad example for young women and for promoting and unhealthy, anorexic figure. Denials were promptly issued by the actress and she went on to reveal her diet and exercise secrets – which comprised of healthy, vegetarian steamed meals and a mix of yoga and weighted exercise as well as free-hands. If that is to be believed then Kareena Kapoor has done a fine job in reducing her weight from almost 65 kgs to a svelte 48 kgs. Though she did look extremely thin in Tashaan, she regained a bit of weight and is now looking slim, lean and healthy – and doesn’t plan to go back to her Refugee weight at all. In fact, a well known computer brand made her the face of their super slim laptop range. If girls are to take inspiration from an actress then perhaps Kareena should be on their list as she has achieved major weight loss without resorting to surgeries. Reknowned dietician and weight loss expert Rujuta Diwekar is behind Kareena’s weight loss – and is said to have supervised Bebo’s routine closely so as to not allow her to slack off. Her workout routine comprised of a lot of yoga – Suryanamaskar, Hot Yoga, Naukasana, Bhujangasana, KapalBharti etc. Her vegetarian diet also makes a difference and she eats frugal, small meals in a day to keep herself from feeling hungry. She was introduced to vegetarian-ism by her ex boyfriend Shahid Kapoor and that is the one good thing that has come out of her relationship with him. A Punjabi who is a vegetarian is quite an oxymoron but Kareena maintains that her choice is for pro-Peta and health reasons. Nuts, oil-less parathas, curd, fruits and juices were her dietary choices as well as salads and soups. When she did eat the infamous white carbs that are so very disastrous to weight loss, she ate them in small quantities and always steamed – choices being idlis, dumplings, risotto etc. She maintains the healthy habit of avoiding tea or coffee and drinks soya milk to keep her body energised. Along with that, she maintains that if one is craving favourite food, it is wise to eat a small portion of it, denying the body and mind something it desperately wants, only makes one prone to over eating later on – which has adverse effects on weight and blood sugar levels. Perseverance in exercise routines, willpower to eat the same, frugal meals of daal, roti and sabzi every day twice a day, snacking on nuts and salads with dip and exercising regularly is what Kareena Kapoor resorted to, in order to lose all the fat she had on her body. This is why she should be an inspiration – for being a celeb who took her weight and health into her own hands and was proactive about staying healthy.
