Wear your attitude: wear graphic tees!
Whoever said graphic t-shirts look good only on men are clearly devoid of a sense of style, and are, more importantly, very blatantly sexist. Graphic tees need not be worn by men only. This is a very arbitrary division, which is based on the premise that men need to have the “attitude” while women should stick to flowers and pastels. Graphic tees are cool, they’re never out of fashion, and one can wear them with just about anything.
Graphic tees need not be restricted to men, or to college going girls. One can be chic and wear them at just about any age, with just about anything. One need only possess a broad fashion sense, and innovating with graphic tees will be a lot of fun thereafter. These tees ooze personality and they are for those who are not afraid to express themselves or their attitude to the world around them.
This however, does not necessarily mean that their usage should be restricted to certain kind of people. They need not be worn only by punks or college students. Someone incredibly feminine can rock them too, as can someone who’s older and is working. They just need to be paired up with the right kind of clothes. The first step, however, is to obtain a few graphic tees which are your style, and which reflect on your personality. If you have some from your college days, which you’re loathe to get rid of, then by all means, pull them out of the closet, and wear them!
Just because you’re wearing graphic tees does not mean they need to be paired up with edge leather pants or jeans and a pair of sneakers. A graphic tee can be worn with a fun, flirty skirt. If you have some tees with dull colours, then indulge in some colour blocking by pairing them up with a bright coloured skirt and some stockings. The same could be done with a pair of coloured pants. If you want to go for a more formal do, then just tuck the tee into your pants, and slip on a preppy jacket, or a well-cut blazer. They will look fantastic with either. A chic leather jacket will also do the trick.
If you want to go out partying too, just slip on a pair of killer boots, tuck your graphic tee into a pair of high-waist pants and accessorize with some chunky jewellery, such as a pair of dangers. Graphic tees need not only be restricted to an androgynous look. Slipping on a floral jacket, or wearing earrings and accessories which are girly form a nice contradiction, and together, they express a more unique form of style than stereotypical categorizations.
Graphic tees are cool, and they contain oodles of attitude. They are suitable for all kinds of style sensibilities if one knows how to pair them right. For a day look, pair it up with trousers and a scarf around the neck. For a lunch date, slip on a good jacket and a fun skirt. For a meeting with a client, pair it up with a blazer and formal trousers, and for a party, bling it up a little bit by accessorizing well.
