Scent of a woman – Jennifer Aniston has her own perfume brand

We have all known her and loved her for her portrayal of Rachel Greene, the spoilt brat with the beautiful heart in the hit, cult television show “Friends”. Jennifer as Rachel inspired many women to sport the hairstyle the character sported – in fact the “Rachel cut” is popular even today.
After Friends, she has been seen and appreciated in a few movies and was admired and hated in equal measure for dating and later marrying one of Hollywood’s sought after heroes Brad Pitt. However, once she was unceremoniously dumped in favour of the leggy Angelina Jolie, Aniston’s supporters grew in leaps and bounds, those who had been against her for dating Brad hated Angelina even more and therefore automatically became Jennifer supporters. Cushioned by the enormous amount of love her fans showed her, Aniston recovered sufficiently enough to go on with her life, despite the disparaging comments Brad Pitt tastelessly made about their marriage being boring in an interview with a very well known magazine. She dated a few men such as actor Vince Vaughan and singer John Mayer and finally found love with Justin Theroux, and apparently the pair are waiting for Pitt-Jolie to tie the knot before they set out to get married because they do not want their wedding upstaged.
Jennifer was said to be devastated after her marriage is doing rather well for herself these days. Not only has she found relationship stability in the form of Theroux, she has also immersed herself in charity work and recently launched her own perfume.
Dressed in a bright orange Vivienne Westwood outfit, 42 year old Jennifer made an appearance at the Sephora store in New York, to launch the eponymous perfume, though initially it was called “Lolavie”. The perfume was first released in 2011. Said to have light notes of refreshing sandalwood, lily, amber and jasmine, the perfume takes Jen back to her native California, where she spent her growing years on the beach. She launched her perfume in New York, to symbolize her love for the city and it is reported that she will soon move out of her USD 32 million home in Beverly Hills and move into one of the two luxury apartments she has recently bought in NYC.
The perfume is express as having light notes of jasmine, amber, lily and sandalwood, which the star says reminds her of days at the beach in her native California. Speaking after the launch, Jen said of the perfume and its fragrance, "I consider the scent of the ocean to be one of life's most enriching sensual experiences. The combination of the salty air and tropical oils reminds me of long sunny days on the beach - pure happiness,"
It seems Jennifer is no stranger to blending fragrances. Apparently, blending different essential oils and coming up with a new and unique scent has been a favourite hobby for ages now and she said that as a tradition with her friends, they get together and create fragrances which they then seal in pretty crystal bottles. Each friend puts a drop or two of an essential oil of choice along with wishes for the bride and the bottle is sealed and presented to the lady in question who then wears the fragrance on her wedding day.
The bottle is also important here – it mimics the flow of a cresting wave and the lines of a building by architect Frank Gehry – since Jennifer apparently loves architecture.
