Decoding a man!

Decoding a man!

If we go by popular notions, it’s not that difficult at all because men are usually more simple creatures than their feminine counterparts. However, this idea can actually come in the way of you understanding your man better – simply because you think he is not very difficult to read, you might miss out on noticing key details in his stance, behaviour and attitude, which might help you know him better or analyse the situation better.

So watch out for these signs when you are approached by that cute guy at a party or even when you want to figure out what kind of a mood your boyfriend or significant other might be in.
There might be times when you think that your guy is not paying you attention or being distracted even when you are out on a date together. This may come across because though he is facing you, he is looking everywhere else. However, note that he is just being a guy! If his body is facing you – that means his attention is on you – he hasn’t turned away from you right? Experts say that if a man points his upper body at you then he is paying you attention – you are the most meaningful thing in the room for him. That’s heartening!

Staring: Well that is fairly easily to decode – if a man is looking into your eyes deeply, without looking away, then you know that he is definitely ‘into’ you and wants to hold your attention. If it is a guy that you have only met, then there is a fair chance that he is really interested in you or just looking to make a conquest. So judge the guy according to how well you know him.

Check his toes: Sometimes you will see that the guy you have struck up conversation with at a party is sitting or standing with his feet pointed towards each other. This is an adorable sign which means that while he is interested in you, he is unsure if the interest is mutual and is feeling shy about it. Give him the encouragement he needs or send him on his way!

His smile: wondering why that hunky guy is not giving you a full 32-teeth-grin? Well chances are that he is, like the guy above, shy and does not want to reveal too much about his true self. Talk to him awhile and you might find that he is flashing a 100 watt smile at you in no time.

The devilish grin: While on the subject of smiles, if your man covers his mouth with his clasped fists and gives you a lopsided, closed mouth grin, you should know that he is going to play hard to get. Such a man knows he is charming and likes the challenge of being chased – or doing the chasing.

Leaning into you: Men show they are interested in a woman by leaning close to her while talking, this shows that he is interested in her and wants to give her all his attention. You know your guy is really interested in you if he does that.

There are tons of other tips – is he blinking too often when talking? He might be lying, blinking nervously or touching his hair and looking away from you when you are talking is a sure sign that he is hiding something. Crossing his hands over his chest? He may be feeling guarded or uncomfortable. Tilting his head to one side while agreeing with whatever you are saying? He is bored and wants you to stop talking!

Body language is a great way to decode what the other person is thinking, after all, actions do speak louder than words, don’t they? Non-verbal communication sometimes speaks more than verbal or tangible communication and it is a good idea to study people while you are with them, so that you know what they are really saying. Next time we will profile a girl’s body language – maybe you can tell us how!
